33. Decorating with Framed Kid's Artwork
One of the most difficult and expensive things to do is to decorate your new place, even with inexpensive mass produced artwork at discount stores. I like my art to be interesting and unique, not prints that everyone has or has seen. In order to afford this option, we frame the kids' artwork. Generally, ready-made frames are relatively inexpensive, if you go for the stylistically simple frames, or you can often pick up frames at yard sales (paint them if necessary). We have discovered that, not only does this option help to decorate inexpensively, but it also lets the kids see their artwork as art (if you are willing to put it in a frame and hang it on your wall it must be good). You don't have to frame and hang everything, choose pieces that work with your decor, have special meaning for you, or that you just love.
